Frame Specifications

  1. Frames are designed for 1-3/4". doors ONLY!

  2. The hinge backset on the door is ¼".

  3. Strikes: AAF standard ASA strike cutout is 4-7/8".  2-3/4"  T-strikes are available upon request.

  4. Frames are prepped for 4 ½" standard weight butts. The minimum hinge width is 4.

  5. Hinge spacing is 5-10-equal UNLESS OTHERWISE REQUESTED!

  6. AAF will provide black smoke seal for anodize frames as a standard. Painted frames may be supplied with black , white or gray vinyl, depending on the paint color and/or at the customer.s request. Wool-pile seal is available, for door frames only, in black, gray or white . clearly state your request on the P.O.

  7. AAF.s sidelite and window frames are designed for use with ¼. glass. 3/8. glass may be used by omitting the slide-in vinyl and using only the push-in vinyl on one side and/or caulking the glass into place. 1/2" may be used on AAF’s 4 7/8" glazing system but this must be clearly stated at the time of order placement -for an additional cost.
