Limitations Special Hardware Preps Most non-standard hardware preps require modifying the frame. A 20-minute fire rated frame cannot be modified. a) Heavy weight hinges may be used on rated frames; however, the frame cannot be mortised deeper to accept the hinges. The door must be over mortised to compensate the over sized hinge. b) 5" butts may be used on rated frames at an additional cost of $10.00 per butt prep. c) Most surface mounted hardware may be used in rated situations d) Frames can be prepped to accept most any hardware, with the exception of closers, which are concealed in the head. Special preps require submitting a template for evaluation of manufacture-ability and pricing. NOTES ON FINISHES 1.Class II finishes (other than black) or class I anodize is not necessary for interior use and results in increased cost and lead-time. 2.Powder Coating is available at a nominal additional cost; however, the color match process is less flexible. 3.Painted finishes exceeding AAF's standard specification are available at additional cost -they are not necessary for frames for interior use. |
