AAF - YOUR ALUMINUM FRAME SPECIALIST: MANUFACTURING SPECIFICATIONS
  1. All frames are individually packaged in a knock-down assembly - AAF standard. Each individually packaged assembly will include the mark #(if provided by the customer), width and height and swing.

  2. Door frames are factory mortised with pre- drilled and tapped hinge and strike backing plates that will have a nominal thickness of 0.125 inches

  3. Frames are constructed of extruded aluminum alloy (6063-T5) and have a nominal wall thickness of 0.075 inch.

  4. Standard hinge preparation will be the 5-10 equal-equal method unless specified otherwise by the customer. (see purchasing details/aafbuttpreps)

  5. Hinge preparation is designed for 4-1/2" x 4- 1/2" and 4-1/2" x 4" - 0.134 gauge hinges. Strike preparation is for 4-7/8" ASA as standard; 2-3/4" T-strike prep available upon request.

  6. Vinyl (black or white) or wool-pile gasketing (black, gray or white) are available by choice. Vinyl provided U.O.N.

  7. Snap-on trim/casing provides cover of side- mounting installation process such that the architecural beauty of the frame is pereserved.

  8. Door frames are designed for 1-3/4" door thickness - Only!

  9. Glazing frame pockets are designed for 1/4" glass; 3/8" glass may be used by omitting vinyl on one side and caulking the glass.
IMPORTANT NOTE! GLASS MUST BE CUT 1/2" OVER NET FRAME WIDTH, IN BOTH WIDTH AND HEIGHT.
