PART 3-EXECUTION

3.1 SURFACE CONDITIONS
  1. Examine the areas and conditions under which work of this section will be performed . Correct conditions detrimental to timely and proper completion of the work. Do not proceed until unsatisfactory conditions are corrected.
3.2 INSTALLATION
  1. Placing frames:
    1. Install frames in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. Rough opening to be framed out using steel studs, turned so that open end faces opening.
    2. Coordinate with all wall construction for anchor placement.
    3. Field cut jamb legs if required to fit actual finished opening dimension.
    4. Install plumb and true to lines, with all necessary clips, anchors, and fastenings. Brace until adjacent walls and finishes are constructed and securely anchored.
    5. Coordinate installation of glass and glazing to comply with Section 08800 .Glazing. for glazed lights.
    6. Accurately join, fit and reinforce corners to flush hairline joints.

  2. TOLERANCES
    1. Install frames to permit hanging wood doors to AWI requirements as specified in Section 08211.

  3. ADJUSTING AND CLEANING 1. Adjust hardware for smooth and balanced door movement. 2. Clean completed systems promptly after erection taking care to avoid damage to finishes.

3.3 ADJUST AND CLEAN A. FINAL ADJUSTMENTS:
  1. Check and re-adjust operating finish hardware items in hollow metal work just prior to final inspection.
  2. Leave work in complete and proper operating condition.
  3. Remove defective work and replace with work complying with the specified requirements.
  4. Touch-up as needed so that touch-up is not visible from a distance of 4 feet. Remove & replace frames which can not be satisfactorily adjusted.
